Facial Pain Syndromes and TMJ from a Neurologist’s Perspective. Practical Guide to Effective Therapy

Category: General Medical Topics

Instructor(s): Anastasiya Kornilova

Course structure: Lessons: 7 lessons | Duration: 2 h 9 min

Course overview

This course is your guide to the complex world of facial and oral pain syndromes.

The training covers in detail modern concepts of postherpetic neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, myofascial pain syndrome, and TMJ dysfunctions. Special attention is given to distinguishing odontogenic from neurogenic pain, as well as migraine from other types of headache. Therapeutic strategies that effectively control symptoms and improve patients’ quality of life are also discussed.

During the course you will learn:

Modern methods for diagnosis and assessment of facial and oral pain syndromes
Botulinum therapy protocols for postherpetic neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia, and myofascial pain syndrome
Techniques for differential diagnosis of odontogenic, neurogenic, myofascial, and vascular pains
Approaches to conservative and pharmacological treatment of TMJ dysfunctions and headache, including migraine
Practical recommendations for managing patients with pain syndromes to improve their quality of life.
